The second European Symposium on Superalloys and their Applications will be organized in Giens on the French Riviera.
The main aim is to highlight new initiatives and future growth opportunities for Ni and Co base superalloys. Specifically, recent advances in the understanding of their performance behaviour and processing which justify their economic integration into an increasing number of industrial systems. In addition to the usual topics (e.g. mechanical properties, alloy development, in-service degradation…), special attention will be paid to modelling tools which enable the prediction of mechanical behaviour as a function of the processing parameters and the implementation of microstructure-sensitive models to develop higher performing materials through improved engineering processing.
The symposium will focus on superalloys only (i.e. Ni and Co base alloys) with possible extension on metallic and intermetallic materials beyond the temperature capability of superalloys.
All kinds of topics around those materials could be considered:
- Alloy development
- Mechanical and rheological behaviour (including standard and close-to-in-service loadings)
- Microstructure sensitive modelling approaches (processes and properties)
- In-service damage
- Metallic and intermetallic materials beyond superalloys
The organizers invite prospective authors to submit an abstract relating to one of the conference topics. Deadline for the submission of abstracts: March 15th 2013
Short abstracts (half a page plus a maximum of two relevant figures) should be submitted through the conference website www.eurosuperalloys2014.eu
The abstracts will be evaluated by the Programme Committee and if accepted, the authors will be given the opportunity to make an oral or poster presentation. They will be informed in November 2013.
In particular, young scientists are very welcome to actively contribute to the conference by submitting an abstract.
